BGMI Ban: Krafton addressed the recent BGMI ban in India during its quarterly earnings call, noting that the business is working with the government to bring the game back.
BGMI, a highly popular game, was purportedly banned in India a few weeks ago in accordance with the country’s IT rules. In a quarterly earnings call on August 11, Krafton addressed the game’s withdrawal from retailers, saying that it will be working with Indian authorities to get the “Game” back to the country.
What Says Krafton CEO On BGMI Return
Krafton CEO Bae Dong-Geun stated, “We have been directly running the service based on strict data security requirements and monitoring.“During the quarterly earnings call. They also say “We will work together with the authorities to identify solutions for people in India to continue using BGMI.“
Prior to its withdrawal, BGMI generated massive revenue for Krafton, as the game developed to a player base of 100 million people and gave birth to numerous famous esports championships.
Skyesports CEO Shiva Nandy has stated that the BGMI restriction is temporary and would be lifted shortly. According to Nandy, the prohibition was not instantaneous and took nearly five months to implement.
The government supposedly handed Krafton an interim notice barely one week before the ban. “According to reports, Tik Tok is all ready to make a comeback,” Nandy added. In that event, The Game will provide a full refund.”
BGMI Was Banned Again In India
The Indian government has banned one of the country’s most popular battle royale apps, Battlegrounds Mobile India, due to data security concerns.
According to the authorities, numerous previously prohibited applications, including PUBG Mobile, have returned to India with altered avatars but no servers. Section 69A of the Information Technology Act of 2000 made BGMI illegal in India.
PUBG Mobile, along with over 100 other applications and games that have servers in China, was banned in 2020 for similar reasons.
